The Challenges of Wastewater Treatment in RV Parks & Mobile Homes

RV & Mobile Home parks function similarly to small communities, requiring effective septic systems to treat wastewater from numerous small residences or lots. However, they face several unique challenges in implementing a safe and efficient wastewater treatment plan.

These challenges include outdated infrastructure, limited budgets, demanding regulations, and restricted space, all while trying to accommodate growing populations. A failed septic system or malfunctioning leach fields can quickly make an entire mobile home park uninhabitable.

Hurricane Katrina Project

Community Case Study

After Hurricane Katrina, offshore oil rigs in New Orleans needed quick repairs, and large workforces had to be housed on barges. The challenge: processing wastewater without polluting the environment.

Flat river barges were used as platforms for worker housing, but Louisiana couldn’t allow sewage from 120 workers to be dumped directly into the rivers and bayous. SludgeHammer’s portable wastewater treatment system, the Aerobic Bacterial Generator (ABG), provided a solution.
